Budget- friendly bedroom design

The bedroom is one place in the entire house where you spend most of your time. However, it can be a task when you want everything to fall into place just the way you want it. Most of us want the bedroom design in a way that’s it’s calm, organized and with a touch of colour. Below are some tips you can follow with ease and are budget-friendly.

1. Add a headboard

Add a headboard to the bed while planning the bedroom design, as it instantly spruces up the bedroom ambience. You can use a variety of finishing on the headboard as per your style. Use wood finish or add a soft texture to your headboard by upholstering either leatherette or cotton. If you’re feeling too experimental, you could also go with raw silk as it gives a raw look to the fabric with a slight sheen.

2. Area Rugs

A rug gives a warm look and texture when placed in a bedroom. They are available in many patterns and sizes. Choose a rug that is in the striped pattern as it will make the bedroom look bigger in size. Depending on your personal choice, you can go with either the plain one or the one with a pattern. They’re easy to maintain and add a dash of colour.

3. Paint the focal wall

In most cases, this looks good when the focal wall in the bedroom is the one behind the headboard. Going with options like texture paint, that offers many textures and patterns, could be one choice. We would suggest going bold with solid colours like crimson red, deep blue or even sunset orange while planning the bedroom design. Experiment all the way we say!

4. Throw in some cushions

Throw cushions are a low-investment way to see how you like the latest trends and materials doing the rounds in the home décor section. This way you can keep changing the set of throw cushions each week for a different mood for your bedroom. To add to this, you can retain the same inserts and buy cushion covers to swap whichever one you like. This is a quick and easy way to liven up your bedroom design.

5. Wallpaper love

Wallpaper can cater to a number of versatile tastes. Whether you like it being bold, floral, in a geometric pattern or simply to lend a subtle look and blend in the overall bedroom design. Go with this option only if you don’t have small kids or pets in your house, since it can easily get scratched & torn.

6. Add a little green or flowers

It’s called – bringing a little outside, inside. It adds freshness and positive energy to any space, be it the bedroom or living room or even the foyer area for that matter. The plant can be hung in the corner of a bedroom or you could place banana leaves in a clear glass vase and place it any corner. On the side tables, you can play with exquisite vases with some flowers in it to add colour and drama to the bedroom design.

7. Hang Artwork or paintings

One thing we’ve learned over time is, to not hang a big painting right on top of the headboard. It’s monotonous and frankly- very foreseeable & common. What you can do instead is, to place three or four (small or medium size) art pieces in a line leaving around 3 inches in between each art piece. Do remember to keep it a little closer in height to the headboard (Approx.6 – 8 inches above the headboard). Not too high! A very important point, as it can make or break the look of the bedroom décor.
